Altamont
Altamont fabrics are woven from diverse threads…
Altamont’s aim each season is to present a diverse collection made up of contributions from our skate team and an eclectic cast of friends, acquaintances, fellow skateboarders, creatives, misfits and miscreants—people we respect and revere. In this way, Altamont strives to inspire our core community and elevate the entire skate wear game by demonstrating the true diversity of influences that make up our unique street culture.
About Alyasha
Raised in Brooklyn, his professional career spanning from New York City to San Diego to Hong Kong, Alyasha Owerka-Moore’s varied geographical background is as diverse as his ethnic make-up and cultural interests. It’s no surprise that this postmodern renaissance man has been responsible for some of the most trendsetting and intriguing work in contemporary fashion history. From his past successes within the skate/urban/street universe, cultivating iconic brands like Shut Skates, Alphanumeric, Dub Brand Outerwear, Droors, American Dream, Inc. Skates and now his current label Fiberops, Aly has not only been there and done that, chances are that he’s the one who founded it.
Altamont vs. Fiberops
With his Fiberops label, streetwear pioneer Alyasha Owerka-Moore rejects the current belt-printed, melon-colored and trust-funded t-shirt hype that defines modern street fashion, opting instead for a more subtle and sophisticated approach to quality cut-n-sew garments with a classic appeal. Aly’s iconoclastic perspective on the streetwear scene reinforce his status as a true innovator in the field, and as such, Altamont is honored to present his contributions to our Fall 2008 collection through this exclusive collaboration.
